The September 19, 2020 Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] slated governorship election in the State has promised to be a fight of the titans.
A faction of the All Progressives Congress [APC] loyal to the Party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has picked Pastor Ize-Iyamu as their consesus candidate for the June 22, 2020 primary of the Party.
In swift response, the Obaseki Mandate Forum, a pressure group, went and purchased the expression of interest and nomination form for Governor Godwin Obaseki for the primaries of APC.
Speaking to the media after obtaining the forms at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja yesterday, Mr. Nathaniel Momoh said, ”Our friends in the media,it would amaze you that the N22.5 million for the purchase of these forms was sourced from like minds who have seeen the enthronement of good governance.
”As well as focus on people’s welfare and infrastructural development in Edo since the coming on board of our dynamic, focused and dedicated Gov. Godwin Obaseki,” Mr. Momoh said.
Disclosing that it was people of Edo State both home and abroad that made the money for the purchase of the forms, Momoh said, ”We are convinced that no other name among those whose names are being touted qualified as the incumbent and performing Gov. Godwin Obaseki.
”We are optimistic that his pedigree will make him emerge winner to lead the Party to the democratic contest in which he will emerge winner to continue to boost the State’s revenue and infrastructure,” Momoh disclosed.
He therefore called on all sons and daughters of the State to join hands in the crusade through their votes, campaign or support in whatever shade possible to ensure the re-election of Obaseki come September 19, 2020.
