The ruling All Progressives Congress [APC] has disqualified the sitting Governor of Edo State from contesting the Party’s primary election. This means that the Gov. Godwin Obaseki will not contest the 2020 gubernatorial election in the State under APC.
The screening panel set up by the Party to clear contenders disqualified Gov. Obaseki on allegations that he had problematic academic certificate.
Adams Oshiomhole, the APC National Chairman and Gov Godwin Obaseki have locked themselves in an open battle for months now; therefore the outcome of the primary is seen as the outcome of the feud. Oshiomhole prior to the primary has already nominated Pastor Ize-Iyamu as his faction’s candidate for APC gubernatorial election.
Details later as events unfold.
