In our WK 2 DAY 6, the number of states that participated to fight covid was 22 and they produced 649 results. As usual, we paid attention to our chosen six states. It was only four that featured.
They were Oyo with 100 confirmed cases; Kaduna, 27; Enugu, 14; and Kano, 1. Two PDP states of Oyo and Enugu produced 114 cases while two APC states of Kaduna and Kano had 28 cases. APC has won, and wide margin.
THEN IN JOB CREATION….
Yesterday, we celebrated Gov. Makinde of Oyo State for creating 12, 000 jobs for youths of the State, challenging his Borno counterpart, Gov. Zulum in a job creation duel.
Reports of what Gov. Zulum did began to rain in our office. He allegedly said, ”We will invest heavily in technical and vocational education as every step towards youth employment is a step towards societal well being and development.”
Therefore he created three sections, and called them:
EDUCATION AND SKILLS ACQUISITION. The aim is to help skilled, unskilled and unemployed youths to gain high quality education and skills to improve literacy rate and employability.
EMPLOYMENT AND GROWTH. With a high number of unemployed graduates at all levels, this policy will ensure that opportunities are given to qualified youths across the state.
ENTREPRENURSHIP. A lot of our youths have skills and business ideas that can generate jobs and solve emerging challenges of our society. This policy aims to mentor and grow small businesses.
BORNOJOBBANK. Gov. Zulum also created what he called Borno Jobs Portal with capacity to accommodate profiles of 2,000,000 job seekers from the 27 local government areas to generate data base.
