Fulani elites have been urged to imbibe the culture of writing educative books to enhance literacy among the Fulani communities.
An Author of a book tltled”Every Day Guide to Fulfulde” Zuwaira Ibrahim Ahmed made the call while speaking to news men in Kaduna
The book which contains 140 pages has been playing a great role in encouraging those Fulanis that are living in the cities across African countries
She decried that substantial number of Fulani people born in the cities do not speak Fulfulde language or understand it.
According to her, the need for writing educative books on Fulfulde language cannot be over estimated ,as this would ease the pain of learning the language. It makes learning the language very simple.
Zuwaira Ahmed who is also a secondary school teacher ,enjoined wealthy Fulanis to support writing of educative books to enhance literacy and reading culture in the society.
She noted that funding was the major challenges in writing books, and hence the need for support from certain quarters
While calling on parents to always teach their children Fulfulde language at home, she equally called on parents and guardians to encourage girl-child education, so as to reduce the number of girls that are faced with illiteracy problems
Zuwaira ended by drawing the attention of Fulani leaders across Africa on supporting their children’s education.
She applauded the efforts of nomadic education and Federal Government for supporting the education of nomadic children.
