The former Presidential candidate and Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, has continued to receive condolence messages over the death of her mother, Mrs Cecilia Nwajiaka Ujubuonu who was buried last week in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, whose condolence message was delivered by Commissioner of Information, C. Don Adinuba, enjoined the former Allied Congress Party [ACP] Presidential candidate to accept his heartfelt condolences on behalf of his family, the Government and good people of Anambra State.
His Excellency, Gov. Obiano urged the bereaved former Education Minister reputed as ‘Madam Due Process’ to ”take heart to rediscover those values she [her late mother] lived for and embrace the legacy she represented. She was reputed for discIpline, Christian piety, love of education and dedication to the common good.
”Worthy of emulation is the fact that her personal values remain etched in the character of her children who are famous for competence, professionalism, integrity and commitment to the betterment of the society at large,” the Governor remarked, assuring that, ”we join the family and friends to pray for the sweet repose of her gentle soul, and God’s abiding love for the members of the family.”
In her message, the current Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline K. Tallen, OFR,KSG, said that she received the sad news of her mother’s demise with a heart full of sympathy.
”Watching helplessly a mother slowly fading away before your eyes without being able to help her is unimaginable,’ she said.
Describing the late Mrs Cecilia Nwajiaka Ujubuonu as a devout Christian, Dame Tallen asked Dr. Oby Ezekwesili to encourage herself by drawing her innermost strength and that of the family to remember that her late mother lived a blessed life.
She prayed to God to comfort her and the entire family, and to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss. ”You are in my thoughts and prayers.” she disclosed.
