The President, Muhammadu Buhari said that the security agencies in the country – the Military, the Police, and others in the security services of the nation could do much better relative to what they have done at the moment.
Speaking to correspondents while joining his family and some top government officials to celebrate the Eid-El-Kabir in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, President Buhari said that as far as fighting Boko Haram in the North East and the militant in the South South, Nigerians know that they have done their best.
Referring to the situation of the country in 2015 when he took over the mantle of leadership, the President gave his government a good grade. He therefore expressed confidence that Nigerians would understand that they have tried their best.
This came few days after the convoy of Gov. Zulum of Borno State was attacked at Baga by the Boko Haram members on his way to Sukawa Local Government Area of the State to bring palliatives to members of Internally Displaced Persons [IDPs].
”What is happening up in the North East and North Central is very disturbing indeed but I believe the Military, the Police and other law enforcement agencies from the report I am getting, I think they could do much better,” he said.
Many Nigerians criticized the President especially when he flew to Mali to resolve the crisis in the country while bombs were being detonated in Nigeria by insurgents, maiming and killing people.
Nigerians were being massacred in Zangon Kataf area of Kaduna State but President Buhari flew to Mali to stop the killings there.
