More condemnations trailing the attack meted out to Borno State Governor, Engr. Babagana Zulum by Boko Haram insurgents, have continued to pour in.
The group, Arewa Lives Matter, in a press release made available to the NationGuardNews.com, condemned ”in strongest term the recent attack on the Governor of Borno State motorcade.”
The group in the press release signed by Borno State coordinator, Ahmed Baba Dikwa, who equally is their National Secretary, said in part ”This is sad and appalling, and a confirmation that the movement has been right all along. We said time and time that there is a lot that needs to be done.
”How can Baga [town] with about 1,181 soldiers, yet Boko Haram terrorists were able to access his entourage at a close range. It is unbelievable. We demand an immediate investigation into the matter,” the group said.
Gov. Zulum’s convoy was attacked at Baga in Sukwa Local Government Area of Borno State. He was on his way to share palliatives with the Internally Displace Persons [IDPs].
It would be recalled that the group recently before the attack, threatened to protest against incessant killings due to poor security situation in the north by mobilizing the northern youths to occupy all the nineteen state Houses of Assembly in the north.
The convener of the protest, Hon. Bilal Adamu Akilu was allegedly invited by DSS a day before the D-day to abort the exercise.
