Are you utilizing the season of lent which we believe is meant to let go of sins and turn a new leaf towards being Godly from then on. Therefore I am using this medium to ask if you have seized the opportunity to let go of your sins, if you have used the season to amend your ways?
The thief on the right side of Christ on the cross at Golgotha seized the opportunity of being in a critical situation while Christ was beside him to seek for grace to be with Christ in Paradise and he sure was looking for Christ to grant him his request (Luke 23: 42-43).
Many have been looking for means to end smoking, fighting, malice keeping, cheating, lying, etc. During this season of lent, it becomes easy for them to stay away because they withhold and restrain themselves from food and water (so to say), and by so doing, they never indulge in their habit of smoking, etc. It becomes easy for them to let go of smoking, etc. Therefore, this season would endeavor for all children of God to let go of vices, which they might have been indulging in for years.
If you are free for all in perversion, this is the time that you find it easy to indulge in such things, and if so, then, let the lent season help liberate you from it. If you are one of those whose clothes are dirty based on your dealings with a fellow human being, the lent season is the time to wash off your dirt. It’s the time for you to do away with sins. It’s the time for you to seek forgiveness from God for all misgivings, so that your ways would be pure and you will be as white as snow.
For so confirmed the Bible when it says: ‘Come now and let us reason together, says the Lord,
‘Though your sins are like scarlet;
‘They shall be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson;
They shall be as wool (Isaiah 1:18)
Analyzing this above verse, the Good Lord gives us chance for restitution with Him and allows us to reason with Him. He highlighted that whatever our sin is, either big or small; lightly dirty or heavily dirty, He is able of washing us clean and not just clean but perfectly clean using snow and wool as an example of cleanliness that He can offer us.
This is to make us know that we are not yet written off by God. We are still redeemable no matter our sins. We are still acceptable unto God if only we can submit ourselves in totality to Him. If we can confess all your iniquities; if we can let go of our wrong ways, wrongdoings, wrong involvements; then, He is faithful and just to forgive us all our transgressions (I John 1:9).
If you backbite, use your mouth and by extension your tongue to speak evil of others, kill them with your tongue, kill their source of livelihood, send them away from their comfort zone, then, please let go of it and allow God to take control of your life. The Bible admonished us not to let corrupt words proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers (Ephesians 4: 29).
If you are the person who careless about your neighbours, friends or even your families wellbeing, make a u-turn and come back to the fold as a child of God and follow the law of God as itemized in the book of Matthew 22:39; Luke 10:27.
Knowing that you are ready to come back to God, I expect you to say these prayers…
“God I come before thy throne today; laying bare all my iniquities; I am not worthy to stand at Thy feet because I am filthy, but today, I lay it all by the feet of the cross and beg for forgiveness. I accept you today as my Savior and Lord; Wash me clean and make me worthy. Make me whole and let thy blood wash me off my transgressions. From today, I will walk in your ways and be for You today and forever. I am ready to be Yours and will forever follow you all the days of my life.
As we pray this prayer together, God in His infinite mercy will clean us all and let us be worthy till the end of ages, amen.
