IGBO SPEAKING COMMUNITY IN LAGOS PAYS CONDOLENCE TO THE JAKANDES

In strengthening the cordial relationship between Ndigbo and Yoruba nations, the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos paid a condolence visit to the family of late first civilian Governor of Lagos State Alhaji Lateef  Jakande.

The late Lateef Jakande (popularly called LKJ, Baba Kekere) was born on July 23, 1929 in Lagos Island, Lagos State. He succeeded Ebitu Ukiwe (an Igbo) as an elected Governor of Lagos State, and governed from October 1979 to December 1983. He was succeeded by Gbolahan Mudasiru. He was Minister of Works between November 1993 to March 1995.
