WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO WE NEED TO ASSESS AND POSSESS THE MANSIONS?
God can never repent of His words. He can never lie for He is never human that He would lie (Numbers 23: 19). The act of forgiving is His nature. He is naturally and willingly accommodating to all repentant souls (1 John 1:9). We have observed fasting as a means of atonement and cleansing of our sins since Wednesday, 17th February (provided we did it with repentance of hearts and souls).
And Jesus said, I go to prepare a place for you; in My Father’s house, there are many mansions there… (John 14:2). But come to think of it, who are the categories of people that Jesus Christ has gone to prepare the mansions for? What are the criteria to enter the mansion? What could be the deprivation or hindrance to anybody from entering the mansions?
According to the Holy Bible, criteria for entrance into the mansion of God include acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour; walking by Him and living Him.
If one accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Savior, this means that if anybody accepts Jesus Christ, he or she is on the way of the truth and life of which he or she is on the direct way to salvation, which is only in Christ Jesus. Whoever does not go by this doctrine, is off his or her track to salvation. (John 14: 6).
Walking by Him (Jesus Christ) is allowing Jesus Christ to direct our ways. When He leads, we follow him. How does He lead? He has done it with all the teachings in the Bible by which He instructs all in the Holy Bible
In the book of Genesis 17: 8, God indicates that if Abraham of which we are his descendant work by Him, Abraham’s descendants will have God’s possession. He goes on to say He will dwell amongst His people (Exodus 29: 45). He is ever faithful; hence God says the covenant with Abraham will never be forgotten (Leviticus 26:45). If we abide with His ways and not stray away nor defile Him, He will be our God while we will be His people (Ezekiel 14:11). This promise to all that follow Him wholeheartedly continues in Zechariah 9:8; 2 Corinthians 6:16; Hebrews 8:10l Jeremiah 32L38; Revelations 21:7
HOW DO YOU WALK WITH HIM?
The only way one walks in God through Jesus Christ is in holiness. This means in our dealings with one another (either in church or not), we must be truthful, we must be straightforward, for our yes should be yes and our no, should remain no (Matthew 5:37). This command of being truthful at all times is forever believer and not sectioned. You cannot be a believer and choose to be truthful at will but always. Your truthfulness must be exemplary for all to learn from as this stands for holiness;
You must be disciplined in all your ways. Be disciplined in your utterances. You must focus on the cross (Jesus Christ) without any distraction.
You must follow peace with all men: This means that you must be a lover of peace without prejudice. You must strive to mend the fence with those that offend you and never give room for rancour (Hebrews 12: 14).
If you are disciplined in your ways, your utterances will be in accordance with the Lord Jesus Christ, and by so doing, it will never lead to prejudice, nor offend others.
And by so, you will be able to win souls for God through your behavior which is a replica of Jesus Christ. For that was the reason Christians were so-called.
Caring – The nature of Jesus Christ whom all Christians are His ambassadors is caring. All that are Christians and are walking in Him must and should be caring to all and sundry (Philippians 2:4; Galatians 6:2; Romans 12:10).
Selflessness – Jesus Christ our savior is selfless and all that claim to be His disciples (followers or believer) must be selfless in all situations.
Servitude – We are called to service. No one should claim to be a leader if he or she is not ready to serve (1Peter 4:10 -11; Philippians 2: 3 -4)
