The Super Eagle, this even at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, beat the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon two goals to nothing. Nigeria will now face Angola in the quarter finals.

Nigeria goals were scored by Ademola Lookman first at 35 minutes of the first half. The second goal by the same Lookman came at the 89 minutes of the second half of the tournament.

This AFCON 2023 second round meeting was the 8th time Nigeria and Cameroon have met at the continental showpiece. From the previous seven (7) meetings, both teams were tied at three victories each, while they shared the spoils in one. In this one Nigeria leads Cameroon behind.
