Following the pace set by their male counterparts, the Super Eagles, the Super Falcons this evening at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, defeated the Indomitable Lionness of Cameroon.

Esther Okoronkwo scored the only goal of the encounter after good work by Jennifer Echegini down the left flank. Echegini went to the byline before cutting back the ball for a well-positioned Okoronkwo to jab home the only goal of the match.
With this victory, the Super Falcons will now trade tackles with their longstanding rivals, the Banyana Banyana of South Africa. That will be in the last and crucial fourth round of the Olympic qualifier.
