The Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani has disclosed that the 287 school children kidnapped in Kuriga,Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have been released.
This was revealed in the early hours of Sunday, March 24, 2024 in a statement signed by the Governor. Part of the statement read, ”I wish to announce that our Kuriga school children have been released.
“Our appreciation goes to ourdear President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for priotising the safety and security of Nigerians and particularly ensuring that the abducted Kuriga school children are released unharmed.

“While the school children were in captivity, I spoke with Mr. President several times. He shared our pains, comforted us, and worked round the clock with us to ensure the safe return of the children.”
The unfortunate school pupils were abducted by terrorists along with some staff of the school in Kaduna on March 7, 2024. Conditions of their release are yet to be known at the time of filing this report. The gunmen demanded 1billion Naira as ransom and threatened to kill all of them if their demands were not met.
