Efforts are on top gear to hold a grassroot football tournament in Anambra State.
The tournament which centers on youth empowerment is for those between the ages of 15 and 18 years.
According to Soccer Amb Friday Kujah who is the brain behind it along with his partners that established Kick to Glory football organization, the project is aimed at providing great opportunities for young potential stars to emerge from the state. Apart creating jobs for would be future job seekers, the project has a rich value of curtailing excesses of the young ones who if idle take to crimes like drug trafficking, drug addiction, kidnapping, armed robbery, terrorism, etc as means of living.
As a step to realize the dream, a football academy is planned to be established for training of the boys and honing their talents.

Former coach of the Super Eagles, Bonfrere Jo is to serve as the technical director of the academy. He will join to train, teach, guide the players as well the local coaches on how to become professional in the business.
With him as technical director, it will enhance the much sought-after opportunities for scouts, club coaches, etc from Europe, Asia, etc to spot out the most utility players among them and be linked to clubs in these places.
It’s hoped that Distinguished Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah representing Anambra South Senatorial district in the Red Chambers and current Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum matters, will be involved in this value-adding project. As a matter of fact, serious discussions have been going on with him to consolidate on his efforts to bettering the lots of Anambra youths.

Considering his ‘massive attack, massive defense’ approach to anything he does or is involved like his security provision i Nnewi, his recent youth empowerment in Nnewi, coupled with domineering desire to reposition youths of Anambra, Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, Ebubechukwu Uzo, stands out conspicuously as someone destined to make this project a reality.

Already he has Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club (FC IU) playing in the premier league tournament in the country. His imposing Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, established in 2016 is a symbol of his personality, size of his vision and ambition, ability and capacity. Today, it is the best privately-owned football stadium in Africa.

Kick to Glory organization is made up of football enthusiasts and some successful former Super Eagles players including Daniel Amokachi as the Chairman and Julius Aghahowa as the Vice Chairman.
Directors in the organization are former Chairman of Balogun Market, Lagos, Chief Alex Odunukwe and MD of VCN Sports, Chief Victor Nwaribeaku. Barr Chris Uwolloh is the Legal Adviser while FIFA-licensed agent, Soccer Amb. Friday Kujah, is the Project Manager.
