The unpopular and controversial emergency of Dr. Benard Ifeanyi Odoh as the 7th Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has been generating heat and condemnation from decent minds who see education as a soft but powerful instrument meant to liberate humanity from slavery and bondage.
This condemnation is born out of gross lack of due process, transparency, decency and such in conducting the exercise. Those who reject the process, like Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU),NAU Branch led by Comrade Kingsley Ubaoji are filled with premonition that allowing this non adherence to laid down rule of appointing/electing a Vice Chancellor of a university, then the system stands destroyed.
Some of placards they carry to condemn the process used have such inscriptions as: WHERE IS RULE OFLAW??, STOP THIS IMPUNITY, ASUU NAU IS AGAINST THE VC SELECTION GOING ON IN A HOTEL, etc.
