With the election of Dr. Emmanuel S. Nwofe as the President, Igbo Union Yorkshire (IUY), United Kingdom, and other members of executive, all is now set for their swearing in on Saturday, 14 December, 2024. Both the executives and the entire Union, everybody is ready and looking forward to witness the event.

Out of 146 people cleared to vote, and 128 actually voted, Dr Nwofe got 85 votes to emerge the President-elect. According to electoral committee chairman, Ndubuisi Akwuegbu Esq, Chief Ohaeri got 18 votes, Chief Muotoo got 25 votes while Dr Nwofe got 85 votes.

Captain of the new team IUY, Dr. Nwofe waiting with his team members to swing into action in order to fulfill their colective campaign promises.

Those elected and would be sworn-in and inaugurated during the IUY End of the Year Celebration scheduled to hold on Saturday, 14 December,2024, are, President, Dr. Emmanuel Nwofe; Vice President, Mazi Gabriel Ajoku; General Secretary; Mr. Ifeanyi Madu; Assistant General Secretary; Mr. Nnamdi Sylvester Azike; Financial Secretary; Mr. Emeka Ibeh; Assistant Financial Secretary; Nze Ferdinand Agina Morgbo, and Treasurer, Mr. Ebubechukwu Agu.

Others are Publicity Secretary, Miss Nkiru Iwuanyanwu; Assistant Publicity Secretary, Mazi Chukwuanu Sunday Okagbue; Social/Welfare Director, Mrs. Ugonne Angelo; Assistant Welfare Director, Mr. Paul Nwovu; Provost 1, Mr. Kelechi Uzoho; Provost 2; Mrs. Blessing Okonkwo; Provost 3, Mr. Chukwunweike Igwe Donald and Women Leader, Mrs. Ebere Azeta.

Other members of elected to form the IUY team with Dr. Nwofe as the captain are Mazi Gabriel Ajoku; Secretary, Ifeanyi Madu; Woman Leader, Lolo Ebere Azeta; Publicity Secretary, Miss Nkiruka Iwuanyanwu; Assistant PRO, Mazi Chukwuanu Sunday Okagbue

While campaigning vigorously for the revered post of the president, Dr. Nwofe, now captain of the new IUY team, promised to sustain efforts to achieve Igbo house; foster unity and discipline; enhance social welfare and to facilitate greater partnerships and collaboration with local authorities and other charities. ”With your support, I am confident we can achieve great things. Let us continue to build a union that reflects our collective strength and vision for future,” he said while canvassing for their support.
