The health of the leader of the Catholic Church worldwide, Pope Francis has reported to be in a critical condition. The Vatican announced Pope Francis’ health has been in a dicey situation due to complications from bilateral pneumonia.
”In this moment of profound sorrow, the Vatican requests that people should reflect on the Pope’s legacy and contributions to the Church and the world instead of flowers.”
It would be recalled that earlier last week, the Holy See Press Office updated his health during his hospitalization at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on Friday, February 14, 2025 which was the Valentine day.
The Vatican had reported on Saturday night that Pope Francis was in critical condition, facing significant health challenges. He allegedly suffered from a severe asthma-like respiratory crisis that necessitated high-flow oxygen therapy. Blood tests indicated thrombocytopenia linked to anaemia, leading to the need for blood transfusions.

Pope Francis who never ceased blessing people
Born Jorge Mario Bergoglio on December 17, 1936, in Argentina, Pope Francis made history as the first pope from the Society of Jesus, the first from the Americas and the Southern Hemisphere. He was the first pope born or raised outside of Europe since Pope Gregory III in the 8th century. He will be remembered for his commitment to social justice, interfaith dialogue, and a more compassionate Church.
Reports from the Vatican showed that the Pope has four siblings: Maria Elena, Oscar Adrian, Marta Regina, and Alberto Bergoglio.
When a pope dies, a nine-day mourning period will be declared. The Catholic Church cardinals will have to vote continuously for a new pope.
