President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was invited to the inauguration of the newly elected Pope Leo X1V in Vatican City on Sunday. It was historic as the new Pope, who succeeded Pope Francis, used the occasion to outline his vision for the Catholic and the entire world. Tinubu’s visit strengthens the cordial relationship between Nigeria and Vatican.
President Tinubu shared the environment with other world leaders like U. S Vice President, J. D. Vance, Ukrainnian President, Volodymyr Zerensky, among others. The event took place at the symbolic St. Peter’s Square.
”In this time, we still see too much discord, too many wounds caused by hatred, violence, prejudice, the fear of difference, and an economic paradigm that exploits the earth’s resources and marginalizes the poorest,” Pope Leo laments.
