“These killings must stop. We cannot keep watching communities bleed without justice or protection. We cannot continue to allow our farmers to be afraid of going back to their farms. We cannot continue to allow insecurity.
“These communities deserve not only our compassion but also real and immediate security intervention.
“To the people of Eha-Amufu, you are not alone. I offer my heartfelt condolences to your community, and I pray that the souls of the departed rest in peace. May peace and security return to your land.”
Obi saw it as a reflection of Nigeria’s growing insecurity and condemned the continued threat to farmers and rural communities across the country, pointing out that fear and insecurity were undermining both livelihoods and national stability.
Before the attack occurred on Sunday evening, it was reported by an eyewitness that the suspected invaders dropped from helicopters which had been hovering the area until after the killings.

The Labour Party candidate therefore called on authorities concerned to make prompt decisive and permanent solutions to restore peace and safety in Eha – Amufu community which has suffered countless attacks from suspected herdsmen, and prayed for permanent peace to return to the community.
