President Tinubu has traveled out of Nigeria about 29 times to 19 countries in his first 18 months in office. He spent over 124 days abroad on these trips, attending summits, meetings, and private visits.

Here are the countries he has visited, the number of times he traveled to the countries as well the number of days he spent in each of the trips.

France: June 20–24, 2023 (4 days), September 2023, and May 2024; UK: June 24–27, 2023 (3 days), October 2023; Guinea-Bissau: July 8–9, 2023 (2 days), November 2023; Kenya: July 15–16, 2023 (2 days); Benin Republic: July 29, 2023 (1 day); India: September 4–7, 2023 (3 days); UAE: September 10–12, 2023 (2 days); US: September 17–22, 2023 (5 days); Saudi Arabia: November 9–13, 2023 (4 days),

April 2024; Germany: November 18–21, 2023 (3 days); Ethiopia: February 16–19, 2024 (3 days); Senegal: February 2024; Qatar: March 2–4, 2024 (2 days); The Netherlands: April 2024; Brazil: May 2024; Saint Lucia: June 2024

In France, President Tinubu attended the New Global Financial Pact Summit in June 2023, met President Macron, discussed economic reforms, and strengthened Nigeria-France ties. He also made several private visits for reflection and strategic planning, plus a historic state visit in May 2024 which focused on trade, youth skills, and bilateral cooperation.

His visit to Britain was private and mainly for reflection and informal meetings.

The ones he made to Guinea-Bissau, Benin Republic, Kenya were regional summits and diplomatic meetings. Economic and diplomatic engagements took him to India and United Arab Emirate. Then he went America to participate in global forums, and held meetings with leaders.

Islamic summits and bilateral talks took him to Saudi Arabia. He was in Germany, Ethiopia, Senegal, Qatar, Netherlands, Brazil, Saint Lucia for various diplomatic, economic and multilateral meetings.

Here is a break down some of his most notable trips with details, dates, and purposes. The President visited France at least five times as president, spending over 59 days there in total. In June 2023,he attended the New Global Financial Pact Summit, met with President Macron, and discussed economic reforms.

His visit in February 2025 was private visit en route to the African Union Summit in Ethiopia. He met French President Macron again.

Coming to April 2025, he went for a two-week working visit to review his administration’s mid-term performance, strategic planning, and to meet Macron. Other visits (August, January 2024) were largely private, sometimes with reports of medical reasons, though the presidency often calls them “official” or “private”.

Other countries visited and purposes were UK , mostly private, sometimes for reflection or health; Kenya, Guinea-Bissau, Benin Republic, and others were for summits, diplomatic meetings, and multilateral conferences.

The France trips stand out for their frequency and mix of official, strategic, and sometimes personal or medical reasons.
