As UNIZIK alumni hold her 2025 international convention on 25 October, 2025, in Lagos, there are many feats the citadel of learning has recorded.
In 1991, Nnamdi Azikiwe University was established as a federal citadel of learning with multiple campuses across Anambra State.
In 2025, UNIZIK awarded 8,157 first degrees and many postgraduate diplomas and doctorates, showing strong academic output.
The university won the prestigious World Trade Organization (WTO) Chair Programme, becoming the first Nigerian university to do so—huge for trade research and teaching.
UNIZIK has top-performing students, like Tochukwu Onyeze who graduated with a record CGPA of 4.95 and won 24 academic awards, Ekene Melvin Ozobialu of Faculty of Management Sciences who holds the belt as the best ever graduate of the Faculty with 4.75 CGPA, among others.

What makes the UNIZIK Alumni Lagos Branch tick
In 2020, the Lagos Branch of the Alumni Association committed to building a modern students’ convenience behind the Faculty of Education at Awka campus—a great boost for student facilities!
Alumni from Lagos are active in giving back, like Dr. Frank Odinaka Igbojindu who endowed ₦500,000 for best graduating students, encouraging excellence.
There’s a strong community vibe with regular meetings (like the Nigerian Federation of Catholic Students Alumni), keeping ties and support alive among Lagos-based alumni.
Basically, the Lagos Branch is vibrant and focused on helping both students and the University grow.
